flashback database过程由flashback restore和flashback recover两阶段组成,flashback restore是apply flashback log,flashback recover是apply redolog
最近在使用flashback database时有个疑问,flashback restore到底是从哪个flashback logfile开始apply的?
要把这个问题说清楚,先从下面两个隐含参数说起
_flashback_barrier_interval:缺省值为30分钟,表示隔多长时间往flashback log里写入一个标记,这个标记的主要内容就是当时的SCN号,flashback restore无一例外都必须将这SCN号作为restore的终点,flashback log是按照scn号从大到小的逆向顺序应用的,_flashback_barrier_interval值越大表示数据库发生更改时data block before image会以较低的频次写入flashback log,因此Flashback log writes对数据库的IO消耗越小,但在flashback recover时需要应用的redolog就会比较多。如果_flashback_barrier_interval设置的比较小,before image会被更频繁的写入flashback log,Flashback log writes对数据库的IO消耗会较高,但flashback recover时需要应用的redolog会减少,因为标记里包含的scn与我们要flashback的目标scn距离更近。举个例子,当前flashback log里已经有了如下一些标记(假设每30分钟写入一次标记)

假设现在的时间是9:38,我们要flashback到8:50这个时间点,那么在flashback restore的时候会按照09:30->09:00->08:30的顺序以08:30作为终点,从08:30演进到08:50必须依靠redolog,也就是必须要apply至少20分钟的Redolog,如果将_flashback_barrier_interval将标记的写入间隔时间缩短为10分钟,那么flashback recover最多也只会apply 10分钟的redolog。_flashback_barrier_interval对flashback log写入次数的影响可以参考http://blog.itpub.net/53956/viewspace-1602019/
_flashback_verbose_info:默认值为FALSE,我们把它设成TRUE,在flashback过程中输出更多的日志
为减少篇幅,没有把整个测试过程都加进来,但摘录了一些足以能说明问题的片段,

我们从tstdb1_ora_15271434.trc文件里也可以看到这么一段相关的内容,0x0b92.637251ed转换成十进制后正是12723361567213,表示flashback recover的起点,0x0b92.63725b8c转换成十进制后是12723361569676,表示flashback restore的终点,与alert.log里反应的信息一致。
